Refuting Compromise

Title: Refuting Compromise
Author: Jonathan Sarfati Ph.D.
Publisher: Master Books - A division of New Leaf Press
Format: Print book
Reviewer: Kathlyn Fauchon

Refuting Compromise is an 'in depth' study but written so the layman can understand. It is written in response to the belief of “Progressive Creationism (Billions of Years)” as popularized by Astronomer Hugh Ross.

Refuting Compromise is divided into twelve chapters each with its own topic. It begins with the “Authority of the Scriptures”. The whole is based on Biblical and Scientific information. Jonathan sums up the twelve chapters in a “Conclusion & Summary.”

As I read it I find myself stopping and trying to put the issues into my own words to tell others. It is not necessary for me to do this because the book says it all. If you have questions about the validity of the Bible I recommend you read this book. Your faith will be strengthened in the process.

Jonathan is quick to point out that he does not question the faith of Christian having a different view. He adds however that to hold to “a creation period of six 24-hour days about 6000 years ago is essential for consistency in doctrine and apologetics.”

Refuting Compromise deals with issues such as:-

· Death, bloodshed and disease before Adam & Eve. True?
· Noah's Flood a local event. Really?

and others as stated on the back cover.

There is one God, and one mediator between God and people, the man Christ Jesus (1 Timothy 2:5) in Whom all the fullness of the Godhead dwells in bodily form (Colossians 2:9) and Whom God the Father has exalted to the highest place, giving Him the Name which is above every name, that at the Name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. (Philippians 2:9-11)
