The Genesis Factor

Title: The Genesis Factor
Author: Yacov Rambsel
Publisher: Lion's Head Publishing
Format: Print book
Reviewer: Lynn Fowler

If you have read The Bible Code, this is better! Hebrew scholar and Messianic pastor Yacov Rambsel worked without the aid of computer software, handwriting thousands of lines of Hebrew text to produce equi-distant letter sequences (ELS). The hidden codes he found in these sequences are nothing short of amazing.

To quote from the Special Introduction by Dr Paul Crouch Sr., "For example, in the 'Suffering Servant' passage of Isaiah 53, where we read: 'He was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.' (Isaiah 53:5), every twentieth letter spells 'JESUS IS MY NAME.' When the critics countered by saying YESHUA (the Hebrew name for Jesus) simply and literally means 'salvation,' we looked again and found 'NAZARENE' in the same chapter along with seventy-four of the names, places and events of the time period of Jesus of Nazareth!"

The first chapter is a general look at codes in Genesis, and covers such things as the names of planets, the speed of light, dinosaurs and various elements and minerals of the earth.

The second chapter finds the genealogy from Adam to Christ encoded in Genesis. For instance, in Genesis 1:22, the names of both Abraham and Sarah are encoded. The possibility of this happening by chance has been calculated at less than .004 to 1,000,000!

From Chapter 4 onward, the focus is on Jesus. This chapter begins with some fascinating quotes from documents written by Pontius Pilate and held at the Vatican, and includes a very interesting insight into the epitaph that was nailed to the cross ("Jesus of Nazareth the King of the Jews"), before going on to show His Name in many ELS. By combining his knowledge of the richness of the Hebrew language and the meticulous mathematical search through the letter sequences, the author brings out from the Scriptures a depth of meaning that is quite simply staggering. Here is very clear evidence of the divine authorship not only of the general themes of the Bible, but of the very words of the original text.

This book is not light reading. You will probably find yourself reading back over passages several times to fully take in what is being said. However, it is well worth the effort. For a believer, it produces a sense of "Wow! God, how did You DO THAT?" It is not that we should need any proof of the truth of the Word of God, but rather a further and deeper insight into His greatness.

On the other hand, if you know anyone who has doubts about the Word, stick this book under his nose - it may just make him rethink his position.

There is one God, and one mediator between God and people, the man Christ Jesus (1 Timothy 2:5) in Whom all the fullness of the Godhead dwells in bodily form (Colossians 2:9) and Whom God the Father has exalted to the highest place, giving Him the Name which is above every name, that at the Name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. (Philippians 2:9-11)
